Classic Bourbon Cocktails

Manhattan
2 oz. Taconic Founder's Rye Whiskey
1 oz. sweet vermouth
1 maraschino cherry
Strain over ice and pour into pre-chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with cherry.

Old Fashioned
2 oz. Taconic Dutchess Private Reserve Bourbon or Rye Whiskey
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1 splash seltzer
1 tsp. sugar
1 maraschino cherry
1 orange wedge
Place sugar and bitters in glass. Add club soda and muddle with cherry & orange slice. Pour in bourbon, fill with ice cubes, and stir.

 

Whiskey Sour
2 oz. Taconic Dutchess Private Reserve Bourbon
Juice of ½ lemon
½ tsp. Taconic Maple Syrup
1 maraschino cherry
½ slice of lemon
Combine bourbon, lemon juice and syrup in cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake until frosty. Strain into glass and garnish with lemon and cherry.

Note: ½ tsp. powdered sugar may be substituted for maple syrup.


Taconic Signature Cocktails

The Hunter
1 ½ oz. Taconic Dutchess Private Reserve Bourbon
½  oz. cherry liqueur
Fill shaker with cracked ice. Add bourbon & cherry liqueur and shake well. Strain into chilled glass.

The Foxhound
2 oz Taconic Bourbon
1 ½ oz sweet Vermouth
1 ½ oz Campari

Use an orange slice as a garnish

After the Hunt
2 ozs. Taconic Dutchess Private Reserve Bourbon
1 oz. tawny port
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Place ingredients in a mixing glass with large ice cubes. Stir several times and strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a flamed orange peel.


Taconic Seasonal Favorites – Autumn

Autumn in New York
6 oz. Taconic Dutchess Private Reserve Bourbon
4 tsp. fresh lemon juice
2 tsp. Taconic Maple Syrup
1 C apple cider
Apple slices

Fill four glasses and a cocktail shaker with ice. Add bourbon, lemon juice, syrup and cider. Shake vigorously. Strain into martini glasses. Garnish with apple slices.

* For extra seasonal flavor, rim edge of martini glasses with maple syrup and dip into crumble apple cider doughnuts.

The Big Apple
3 oz. Taconic Straight Rye Whiskey
1 oz. dry vermouth
2 dashes bitters
1 C. sparkling apple cider

Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add ingredients and stir gently. Strain into two stemmed glasses. Garish each with an apple slice.

 

Harvest Moon
2 oz. Taconic Double Barrel Bourbon with Maple Syrup
1 oz. Taconic Maple Syrup
1 oz. Grand Marnier or Cointreau
1 clementine, juiced
½ lemon, juiced
 

Fill shaker halfway with ice. Add all ingredients and shake until chilled. Strain into chilled glass. Garnish with orange or clementine.
